What's the difference between BEING vs THINKING what you are?

Dear Friends,
I was contemplating today whether anyone would like to consider things like if they are really BEING a decent human being vs being a person who just THINKS they are. Some people have a lot of ideas about themselves, not all of them are true though. What are your actions? Do you help other people and serve what's good, or do you mostly just think about your own processes and outcomes without regard to how they affect other people?
What's the real difference between these types of things?
I don't think it's good to be primarily about yourself, in the form of your own enlightenment, your own self growth, your own Avatar-hood, or just thinking about yourself too much. Even though these processes sound reasonable, too much self-focus makes them less than helpful. They become stunting when mis-used by those overly self-focused. Spirituality is not about focusing on yourself primarily, contrary to popular belief.
Just curious if anyone here sees the difference between actually BEING something and just THINKING it.
Love to hear from you,
George

Help

This is something that I have noticed actually. It was a trap that unitl recently I was falling into fast. And ironically enough, to me, this goes along hand in hand with what you just told me in that message about outer focus rather than inner focus. It was starting to make me not respect myself, like I wasn't good enough.
This is something that I see all the time. People all the time say one thing then do a completely different thing. I do. Everyday I'm sure.
Yes, integrity is important. We are all good, but how we live our lives does say a lot about how much we are really in line with it.
Oh yeah, hypocritical behaviour is common these days. But we all have the opportunity to choose to act differently.
